LOSTies with Jed & Cara : Episode 44 Hello Squirrel Baby

The snow is melting in lovely Iowa and the LOSTies are out breaking ice but they will take a moment to take a deeper look into last week's ep "Lighthouse." SPRSPNDX and Bella are having pun fun - Friggin Italian is talking the Harlem Globetrotters - and there is loads of vidmail picking over all the things we enjoyed and tolerated about Claire's creepy squirrel baby. Watch out for that squirrel baby!!

"I Say Fever" - Ramona Falls (Anna in Indiana recommended!)
"What the World Needs Now is Love" - The Carpenters
"Dreaming of You" - The Corals
"Good Girls Go Bad" - Cobra Starship

  1. FANTASTIC podcast! The introduction was absolutely incredible. You have a great talent and I am glad to reap the benefits.

P.S. - Even after your AZ story, you are still welcome here!

  2. Please tell he story of how you and Cara met, it's strange that Cara could score such a looker like Jed that is way out of her league.

  3. Hi, guys. Thanks for reading my email.

I thought you might find this funny: There is a website called the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/).

For example, if you type in "1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34", it gives you the famous Fibonacci numbers. (http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/index.html?q=1%2C1%2C2%2C3%2C5%2C8%2C13%2C21%2C34&language=english&go=Search)

Mathematicians use this database to look up sequences to see if the data they get might match some already known sequences. There are all sorts of arcane mathematical sequences stored there.

And if you type in "4,8,15,16,23,42", there it is, the LOST sequence. (http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/A104101)
Unfortunately, the entry hasn't been updated since 2005.

  4. Hey J&C....a comment short & sweet. I have a theory on who's David's mother. Its Juliet and why wasn't she around?, because she was busy having dutch coffee with Sawyer, lol, do u like?

  5. I'mNoBetterThanU - Ha - we must not have told the SPNDX story right.

Donald - why are you trying to get me hurt? The story has a mix of booze and stalking.

Ryan - how cool is it that LOST has been included in this Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences!

LOSTie - I do shudder at the idea that our beloved Juliet would actually have a marriage with Jack first... but I guess Sawyer was with Kate first. Mayhap she was just out for coffee.. mayhap.

  6. I think Juliet is the best bet if it's somebody we know. David looks about 14, maybe 13. Most of the women we know are probably too young to realistically be his mother.

I'm of two minds. One is that it doesn't matter who David's mother is. It was Jack's story and David only exists to further Jack's development.

However, they really went out of their way not to involve the X-universe former Mrs. Shepard. Either that means it doesn't matter and they didn't want to give her dialogue or have us theorize about who she is based on a picture or they are holding back to reveal it later.

  7. Why 108? I think it is because the dial will pass all the losties numbers, giving Jack & Hurley a chance to see their reflections in time.
