You are correct about the music! "Credit where Credit is due!" (S1 soundtrack) - It is a season 1 reference, but also the 'title' infers Sawyer taking responsibility for his actions - the same way it was played in "The Last Recruit" when Jack took responsibility for Juliet's death to Sawyer and then jumped off the boat. In the scene from the pilot you showed I think the title of the piece came from the fact that he had told Boone that he did good to find the pens.
